Gardens After Dark: Magical Poinsettias is the first in a new series of lighting exhibits at Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave., Buffalo.
The Botanical Gardens will be filled with colorful and soft lighting to enhance and showcase the plant collection and the beautiful historic landmark that surrounds it.
Various exhibits in the Gardens After Dark series will be held throughout the year.
Magical Poinsettias will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on these dates:
- Wednesday-Saturday, Dec. 2, 3, 4, 5
- Wednesday, Dec. 9
- Friday and Saturday, Dec. 11 and 12
- Wednesday- Friday, Dec. 16, 17, 18
- Saturday, Dec. 26
- Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 29, 30
The Magical Poinsettias exhibit will complement the annual Poinsettia & Railway Exhibit, which will run from Friday, Nov. 27 through Sunday, Jan. 3. Hours are 10 am until 4 pm daily. (Exceptions: 10-noon Thursday, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31; closed Friday, Dec. 25.)
This stunning exhibit includes more than 1,000 beautiful poinsettias, holiday decorations and some playful surprises.
Poinsettias are native to Mexico and are often found in tropical forests. There are more than 100 different cultivated varieties of poinsettias in existence that come in a spectrum of colors.
The Garden Railway display, which is made possible by the Western New York Garden Railway Society, complements the surrounding poinsettias.
Reservations are required for all visitors, including members, due to capacity limitations. Walk-ins may be turned away if capacity is surpassed. To maintain the capacity limit and the safety of both visitors and staff, they encourage visitors to limit their visit to 1-1.5 hours. Please arrive with your E-tickets ready to be scanned and have your ID available. Masks are required at all times when visiting the Botanical Gardens.
