Gardening classes set in Erie County

Communities in Bloom seminars will be held by the Master Gardener program of  Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County on Saturday, Feb. 18 and repeated on Feb. 25.

The topics for each daylong seminar are:

  • Soil, Soil pH and Composting
  • Winter Sowing & Seed Starting
  • Pruning

For each topic, there will be a talk and a hands-on component.

The same three topics will be presented on Feb. 18 and again on Feb. 25.

Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and classes run from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The classes on Feb. 18 will be held in the Unitarian Universalist Church, 695 Elmwood Ave., Buffalo.

The classes on Feb. 25 will be held at the Cornell Cooperative Extension office, located in the Print Shop Building on the Roycroft campus, 21 South Grove St., East Aurora. (For the East Aurora class, check the Cornell Cooperative Extension website the day of the class because the class may be moved to another location on the Roycroft campus.)

The registration fee is $20. Active Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Program volunteers are eligible for a registration discount.
