A competition will be held to select original artwork to use on the 2015 posters for the Samuel P. Capen Garden Walk.
It is free to enter your artwork and a prize of $100 will be awarded. Anyone may enter.
The University Heights Arts Association (UHAA ) will jury the competition.
The theme for this year’s competition, “The Beauty in our Backyard,” invites interpretation of anything from a single flower to an entire backyard. Painting, photography, illustration, mixed media and digital art will be considered.
Entries are due by Friday, April 3.
The top fifteen selected works will be exhibited in neighborhood venues from June 1 to July 31 as part of the UHAA Arts Crawl Partnering Program. Additional entries will be accommodated as space allows. Artists also wishing to sell their work may choose to have it listed in the UHAA online store.
For more information, email the University Heights Arts Association at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (716) 833-6260.
The Samuel P. Capen Garden Walk, which showcases gardens in the University District and surrounding communities, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 11.
