Tourists as well as Western New York gardeners love to take photos at the various events of the National Garden Festival and at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens.
Rick Brightman of Norwich, NY, was in our area for the Fourth of July weekend and took this photo at the Botanical Gardens.
You can find “beauty from a mile away to millimeters away and everywhere in between, no matter where you look,” Brightman said.
You can see this photo and two more of his photos on the Your Photos page.
Would you like to share your photos with our readers? Maybe you have photos of the Botanical Gardens’ recent Mum Show. Did you get some great captures from your own garden or one that you visited on a garden walk? Maybe you have some wonderful nature photos you’d like to share. How about photos of projects or activities from your garden club?
If you would like to share a photo, attach it to an e-mail and send it to me at connie@buffalo-niagaragardening.com. Please include some information about what we see in the photo to help me as I write the caption.
Don’t forget that the Botanical Gardens holds a digital photo contest and the deadline is Dec. 31. Photos must be taken at the Botanical Gardens.
There are divisions for adults (18 and older), teens (12-17) and youth (under 12).
Photos in each division will be considered for the following awards:

I agree with Brightman, beauty can be found everywhere, it just needs a new way of seeing.
