Wednesday, July 3 is the deadline to subscribe to a Summer Vegetable CSA or Cut Flower CSA—or both—from Henry’s Gardens.
CSA is short for community-supported agriculture. When you subscribe for a CSA share, you get vegetables or cut flowers every week from Henry’s Gardens during the growing season.
The CSA shares are available for pickup only.
Summer Vegetable CSA
The Summer Vegetable CSA will run for eight weeks, starting Saturday, July 13 and ending Saturday, Aug. 31.
You will pick up your vegetables on Saturdays at Henry’s Gardens, 7884 Sisson Highway, Eden.
Each week you will receive a half-bushel or more of fresh-picked vegetables from their farm. Contents of the CSA shares will change as different vegetables come into season.
Fill out the form here to let the folks at Henry’s Gardens know what your preferences are. If you have any questions, this is the best way to get answers, said Barbara Henry, who founded Henry’s Gardens with her husband Martin.
Vegetables that may be included are:
- Their award-winning sweet corn
- A variety of peppers
- Eggplant
- Tomatoes
- Broccoli
- Cauliflower
- Cucumbers
- Zucchini
- Winter Squash
- Onions
- Leeks
- Lettuce
Cut Flower CSA
The Cut Flower CSA will run for six weeks, starting Saturday, Aug. 3 and ending Saturday, Sept. 7.
You can pick up your flowers at Henry’s Gardens, 7884 Sisson Highway, Eden. Or you can pick them up at the Hamburg Farmers’ Market, which is held at the Hamburg Moose Lodge, 45 Church St., Hamburg. The farmers’ market takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
