Tom Mitchell, a member of PLANT WNY, received the Dr. George L. Good Gold Medal of Horticulture, the highest honor bestowed by the New York State Nursery and Landscape Association.
The award is given to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to horticulture in the State of New York. Mitchell exemplifies that with his work in education. He is a horticulture instructor at Niagara County Community College. Before that, he was a horticulture instructor at McKinley High School.
Mitchell is a regular speaker at PLANT WNY’s Trade Show & Education Day Conference. He has spoken at Plantasia, Western New York’s premier garden and landscape show, and coordinates the seminars at that event.
He has been PLANT WNY president, PLANT WNY Foundation trustee, and PLANT WNY Person of the Year.
In addition to teaching, he owns Mitchell Landscaping.
Hi Gerry, I have sent your email address to Tom. He’s very knowledgeable!
It is my duty to schedule speakers at our Amherst Garden Club meetings and would love to have Tom Mitchell give a presentation. Is it possible to contact him either by phone or e-mall.
Thank you in advance for your help.
