Open Gardens is one of the amazing gardening events we get to enjoy here in Western New York.

Open Gardens are like garden walks, but they take place on Thursdays and Fridays instead of on weekends. They take place only during July.

And Open Gardens include just exceptional gardens. This year there will be nearly 100 gardens to visit!

The gardens are beautiful, there are no crowds, and the gardeners are friendly and happy to answer questions.

To see where the gardens are and what hours they are open, you need an Open Gardens and Garden Event Guide. Included are maps showing the gardens, a listing of the hours that each garden is open, and garden descriptions – complete with garden features, collections and photos. You’ll have six days to visit (or re-visit!) the gardens throughout the month. There are even some garden center coupons.

There are three ways to get an Open Gardens Guide:

  • At select garden centers and shops ($10 donation, cash only). Visit OpenGardensWNY.com to view the list of garden centers.
  • Buy the Open Gardens smartphone app wherever you buy your apps ($4.99).
  • Purchase a guide online at OpenGardensWNY.com and have it mailed to you ($20 donation).
