Coming back: Garden Walk Buffalo and East Side Garden Walk

What looks like a maypole is actually a trellis for regular pole beans and Italian pole beans growing in pots. This is at the home of Cheryl Harris on the East Side Garden Walk. You can see many creative gardens on the East Side Garden Walk and Garden Walk Buffalo. Photo by Connie Oswald Stofko

Garden Walk Buffalo and East Side Garden Walk are coming back for in-person visits!

Garden Walk Buffalo, the largest garden tour in the United States, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 24 and 25.

The East Side Garden Walk, one of the newer garden walks in Western New York, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 17.

If you want to share your garden on either of these walks, sign up by May 15.

Your garden does not need to be perfect; no one’s ever is. There are no fancy garden criteria for either garden walk. All you have to do is be proud of your little spot of earth.

It does not need to be giant. It does not need to be professionally landscaped. Gardens range from large to a few square feet – register your front, back, or side garden; your upper porch (seen from the street), or your business storefront dolled up with plantings. It is the diversity that makes the events a success.
