Free online classes on dahlias & more; anyone can attend

No matter where you live, you can attend this series of garden talks with the Master Gardeners of Cornell Cooperative Extension in Genesee County.

The gardening-themed programs will be held via Zoom. The classes are free.

Pre-registration is required. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing the link to join the program.

Scheduled classes are:

Noon Thursday, Oct. 1 “Easy Preserving” Learn some quick and easy ways to preserve fall bounty from the garden. The instructor will demonstrate how to safely prepare infused flavored oils and flavored vinegars as well as demonstrate how to make sauerkraut at home. Register here.

Noon Thursday, Oct. 15 “What to do With Those Dahlias” Learn when to dig dahlias up, how to overwinter your dahlias and how to divide them. Get your dahlia questions answered. Register here.

Noon Wednesday, Oct. 28 “A Witch’s Garden” Witches were once considered wise women and healers. They used plants they grew or found in their environment to cure ills as well as cast spells. Explore the folklore and plants of the witch. Register here.
