Garden art sought in three competitions

The ARTpartnering program of the University Heights Arts Association seeks art for three competitions that will offer cash prizes and an exhibition of finalists’ work. In two of the competitions, the winning artwork will be featured on the official poster for a garden walk.  

#GardenVisions Garden Art Competition

The winning artwork will be featured on the Northwest Tour of Gardens official poster. There will also be three cash prizes.

The deadline to submit entries is Monday, April 13.

Original photography, paintings, mixed media and digital art will be accepted. The theme of this competition will be natural pollinators — any creature that pollinates plants, from bees to wasps and birds to rodents. Other garden art will also be accepted.

The Beauty in Our Backyard Garden Art Competition

The winning artwork will be featured on the Capen Garden Walk official poster. There will also be three cash prizes.

The deadline to submit entries is Sunday, May 10.

Original photography, paintings, mixed media and digital art will be accepted.  Art must be garden-themed.

Capturing the Garden Competition

The theme is to capture the essence of the home garden in Western New York. Artists are encouraged to visit area garden walks or to depict their own garden at any time during the gardening season, from the first bloom to the last frost. There will be one cash prize.

The deadline to submit entries is Saturday, Oct. 31.

Original photography, paintings, mixed media and digital art will be accepted.
