
Mark your calendar for holiday events at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave., Buffalo.
Note that the Botanical Gardens will be open 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 and will be closed on Dec. 25.
Admission to the Poinsettia & Railway Exhibit and to Santa’s Workshop are included with admission to the Botanical Gardens. Prices are $12.50 for adults, $11 for seniors (62+), $11 for students (13+), $7 for kids 3-12, and free for Botanical Gardens members and children 2 and under. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

Poinsettia and Railway Exhibit
The annual Poinsettia and Railway Exhibit will run from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily from Friday, Nov. 29 through Sunday, Jan. 5.
This stunning exhibit includes more than 1,000 beautiful poinsettias, holiday decorations and some playful surprises.
Poinsettias are native to Mexico and are often found in tropical forests. There are more than 100 different cultivated varieties of poinsettias in existence that come in a spectrum of colors.
A Garden Railway display, made possible by the Western New York Garden Railway Society, complements the surrounding poinsettias.
Santa’s Workshop
Santa Claus will visit the Botanical Gardens from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 for Santa’s Workshop.
Visits with Santa, holiday-themed hands-on activities, a fun self-guided scavenger hunt and more will be included.
Photo prints with Santa will also be available for $5 each.
New terrarium workshop for kids
A new Terrarium Make-It, Take-It Workshop for kids will be offered at 10 a.m. and again at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.
This fun, hands-on workshop will allow kids to make a home for baby tropical plants in a low-maintenance, enclosed terrarium. The cost is $20 for the general public and $15 for Botanical Gardens members. Register online or by calling 716.827.1584, ext. 730.
BuffaLove Dollar Admission Day
Stop by the Botanical Gardens for a BuffaLove Dollar Admission Day from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27. Admission is only $1 and tickets can be purchased at the door. (Botanical Gardens members and kids 2 and under are always free.)
