If you enjoy gardening, consider volunteering with Grassroots Gardens WNY or helping them out in other ways. That organization has gardens in the City of Buffalo and Niagara Falls.
Volunteer
The community gardens of Grassroots Gardens WNY could always use extra help, especially at spring planting time.
You can choose to help out on a regular basis or just once. You can pick one garden or help throughout their network as needed. Sometimes they schedule work days and you can volunteer at one of those.
They also need people who have carpentry skills.

Support their pickup truck campaign
The group members often find they need a truck to move soil, lumber, tools and plants, picking up the materials up from donors and delivering it to community gardeners. So far, they’ve gotten by with favors from friends and by using rentals, but a reliable work truck is really needed to meet the needs of their more than 100 gardens. You can help by making a donation to their GoFundMe campaign. See details here.
