Dozens of hand-picked and award-winning orchids will be on display during the annual winter Orchid Show to be held this weekend at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave., Buffalo. Hours for the show are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26.
The show is hosted by the Botanical Gardens and the Niagara Frontier Orchid Society.
These unique exhibits will be dispersed throughout the Botanical Gardens for visitors to enjoy. For those who want to expand their orchid knowledge, educational programs will be held both days on growing orchids and other aspects of indoor orchid gardening. During the show, orchids of many varieties and sizes and lots of growing supplies will be for sale through local vendors.
The Niagara Frontier Orchid Society’s mission is to promote the culture and enjoyment of orchids. They are dedicated to encouraging the protection of orchids and their conservation in natural habitats around the world.
Tickets to the Orchid Show can be purchased at the door. Admission is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors (ages 62 and older), $9 for students (ages 13 and older with ID), $6 for children ages 3 – 12 and free for Botanical Gardens members and children 2 and under.
