Get a peek at Christmas during Lockwood’s open house Nov. 12; holiday workshops set

Get a first look at displays of Christmas gifts and ornaments during the annual Christmas open house to be held by Lockwood’s Greenhouses from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at Lockwood’s, 4484 Clark St., Hamburg.

This year they will have a Christmas tote giveaway, Thymes gift basket raffles and a free gift with purchase. As is their tradition, they will offer sweet and savory treats, including Barb Lockwood’s famous spiced cider.

This event is free and open to the public.

Thanksgiving Centerpiece
10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19

Impress all your guests with your own handmade Thanksgiving centerpiece. The cost is $40. Get more information and register here.

Holiday Wreath Making (Basic)
10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26

Learn how to hand-tie your own wreath for the perfect addition to your front door. You will use fragrant fir branches freshly harvested from Lockwood’s own Christmas trees. Add a bow as the perfect finishing touch. The cost is $30. Please take clippers. The workshop is limited to 20 people, so sign up early.

Outdoor Winter Arrangement
10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3

Decorate your porch or doorstep with a beautiful winter arrangement. You will fill a coco-lined basket with greens, red osier and winterberries fresh from Lockwood’s field. Add a bow and you’ll have a perfect arrangement that can either be hung or set on the ground. The cost is $45. The class is limited to 20 people, so sign up early.

Holiday Multi-textured Wreath
1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4

You will learn to make a hand-tied mixed evergreen wreath. With a base of fresh fir greens and additional white pine, unique greens and pinecones, this wreath is sure to impress all guests throughout the holidays. The cost is $40. Please take clippers to the workshop.  The class is limited to 20 people, so sign up early.

British Kissing Ball
6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7

Just for fun, add a British kissing ball to your outdoor decor. Learn to arrange fresh greens in oasis and top with bows to create a unique decoration to add to your front porch. The cost is $38. The class is limited to 20 people, so sign up early.

Boxwood Tabletop Tree
2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10

Learn how to create a beautiful, long-lasting tree with fresh boxwood. Bows and baubles are added to make it spectacular. The cost is $38. The class is limited to 20 people, so sign up early.

Christmas Centerpiece
10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17

Take your Christmas tablescape to the next level with an elegant centerpiece. You’ll use fresh mixed greens, cones, berries, and a candle to create a beautiful handmade centerpiece. Use it on your own table or give it as a thoughtful gift. The cost is $40. The class is limited to 20 people, so sign up early.
