You can get up to a 40 percent discount on plants left over from the Great Plant Sale in a close-out sale to be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 22 and 23, in the Administration Building at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave., Buffalo.
Admission to the sale is free.
The sale will offer annuals, perennials and shrubs.
A lot of plant material was offered this year at last week’s Great Plant sale because renovations and upgrades at the Botanical Gardens have created a large surplus of plants. Plants were removed from the entrance garden to make room for a newly designed Proven Winners Signature Garden. Extensive renovations are under way now to restore House 3 to its original beauty. While that work is being done, Houses 2 and 3 are closed. The plants had to be moved and there wasn’t room elsewhere for all of them. In addition, the staff grew plants from seed for the Healing Garden, and the surplus will be offered at the sale.
There were enough items left over that it was decided just today to hold this close-out sale.
If you missed the Great Plant Sale, or if you got home and found you still have empty spots in your garden, stop in to the Botanical Gardens’ close-out sale.
I know they still have asparagus fern, but beyond that, I don’t know what ferns they have.
Looking for unusual fern, maybe a place to check out.
