You can find out about gardening as well as home improvement this week at the 10th annual WNY Home & Garden Expo at the Event Center at the Fairgrounds, 5600 McKinley Pkwy., Hamburg.
Hours are 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb 19; noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22.
Tickets are $7 at the door or $6 online. On-site parking is free.
There’s an added emphasis on gardening this year, with talks by gardening expert Sally Cunningham. I’ll have a booth there, too, so stop by and say hello.
There will also be talks by Debbie Lesinski, interior design expert, and Tyra Johnson, who will speak on green design, that is, minimizing adverse environmental impacts indoors.
The main stage will be located in the Expo Hall, across from the wine & food garden, an area with regional wineries and food vendors sampling and selling their products.
Bring the kids, too, so they can enjoy the Lowe’s Build & Grow Clinics on Saturday and Sunday.
You can tour the Twin Lakes model home built right on the show floor. It’s fully-furnished, decorated and landscaped.
The WNY Home & Garden Expo will feature more than 150 vendors who deal with windows, doors, kitchens, baths, heating and cooling, landscape design and general contracting. Take your blueprints along so you can get project estimates as well as decorating and remodeling tips.
The event is presented by Erie Promotions and Expos, Inc.
