I’ve been hearing from subscribers who are puzzled because they signed up for Buffalo-NiagaraGardening.com, but don’t seem to be receiving it.

I was puzzled, too, because from my end, I could see that the emails were delivered with no problem.

Then I noticed a pattern: These folks had Gmail addresses.

You may not be aware of it, but Gmail now sorts all your incoming email into categories: primary, social and promotions. You may be looking at emails in your primary folder without realizing that you have email in other folders, too. You may not have even realized you had other folders.

Your emails from Buffalo-NiagaraGardening.com may have ended up in the promotions folder. Here’s some information from Gmail on how to manage these folders.

If you know someone who has been having this problem, please pass this information along.

If you don’t have Gmail or if looking in the promotions folder doesn’t solve your problem, perhaps your issues of Buffalo-NiagaraGardening.com went into your spam folder by mistake.

Check your spam folder and see if they’re there. If they are, mark them “not spam.”

You can also add my email address, connie@buffalo-niagaragardening.com, to your list of contacts. This will help ensure that these emails don’t get filtered into your junk folder.

One more reason you might not be receiving your issue of Buffalo-NiagaraGardening.com is that your email is full.

Your mailbox could be full without you realizing it. Many people assume that when they place an email in the Trash, that email is gone.

Nope.

It depends on your settings, but that email probably just stays in your Trash taking up storage space. You have to throw out or purge the emails located in your Trash folder in order to free up space.

Another place where old emails may accumulate is in your Sent Mail folder. You may have it set up so that every time you send an email, a copy is saved in your Sent Mail folder. Every so often, go to your Sent Mail Folder and throw out any emails you don’t need.

Everyone’s email is set up differently, so if you’re not sure how to purge emails, ask a friend or get help from your email provider.

These simple steps will ensure that you won’t miss any issues of Buffalo-NiagaraGardening.com. Please remind your gardening friends, too!
