Birds do it. Bees do it.

And birds and bees help plants do it.

In the video below, we bring you a sneak peek of “Innuendo: The Secret Sex Life  of Plants,” the kick-off presentation of Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens’ 2014 Science Café Series.

In this entertaining video, David Clark, horticulture instructor at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, shows us some of the strange ways plants create more of themselves.

Clark is even more fun in person, so make plans to see his entire presentation at the science cafe at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 25 at the Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave., Buffalo. The event includes light refreshments, beer and wine. A mini-tour of the Botanical Gardens follows the presentation.

Pre-registration is required. Tickets are $22 for Botanical Gardens members and $25 for non-members.

  1. Thank you for the nice video, Connie.
I’m looking forward to presenting this ‘live and in person’ at The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens.

  2. I tried to increase the volume, but I wasn’t able to make much of an improvement. Lesson learned: Don’t film near a waterfall!

  3. I’m sorry you are having trouble with the sound volume. When I tested it before I posted it, it seemed fine. There’s something I’m going to try. I’ll let you know when a new version is available.
