Poinsettia, train exhibits continue at Botanical Gardens; Dec. 29 is Dollar Day

Whether you’re looking for something to do with the kids, entertaining out-of-town relatives or just want someplace warm and relaxing to go over the holidays, stop by to see the poinsettia and garden railway exhibits at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave., Buffalo.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday; 10 a.m. to noon Christmas Eve, Dec. 24; closed Christmas day, Dec. 25, and open 10 a.m. to noon New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31. The exhibits continue through Sunday, Jan. 5.

The exhibits are free with admission. Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and students, $5 for children ages 3-12, and free for Botanical Gardens members and children under 3.

Dollar Day will be held Sunday, Dec. 29. Admission will be $1. For Botanical Gardens members and children under 3, admission will still be free.

The Poinsettia Show brings thousands of poinsettias to fill the Gardens with a variety of cheerful colors during the holiday season including apricot pinks, salmon corals, creamy whites and lipstick reds. These rich colors of nature will brighten your visit and give warmth to even the coldest days during the winter season.

The Western New York Garden Railway Society will stage two fun train exhibits. Thomas the Train and a traditional train set-up will be on display for kids and adults to enjoy. The train passes by a model of the Botanical Gardens.
