Tribute Garden honors lives affected by domestic violence; events set for Saturday

A Tribute Garden that is being created to honor domestic violence victims, survivors and their families will be dedicated Saturday, Sept. 27, during the 5th annual Break the Cycle Bike-a-Thon and Walk in Isle View Park, 796 E Niagara St., Tonawanda. Scholarship applications are now being accepted for the spring 2015 semester by the WNY Nurseryman’s Association Foundation, the foundation of PLANT WNY. Applications must be received before Oct. 15. Ceremony marks Honorary International Peace Garden at Botanical Gardens

The existing Peace Garden at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens was designated in a ceremony today as an Honorary International Peace Garden. The designation was made by the International Peace Garden Foundation and the War of 1812 Bicentennial Peace Garden Trail. I went over around 10 a.m. and shot the video below. People were lined up Friday to see Morty and lines got longer on Saturday.
