There are so many interesting ways you can use succulents at home, and for inspiration you should check out the Succulent Show that will take place from Saturday, Sept. 5 – Sunday, Oct. 4 at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave., Buffalo. Hours are 10 a.m.– 5 p.m. daily.
The exhibit is included with admission to the Botanical Gardens. Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors (ages 55 and older) and students (ages 13 and older with ID), $5 for children ages 3-12 and free for Botanical Gardens members and children 2 and under.
Succulent plants come in all shapes, sizes and colors and are fairly easy to work with.
If you need a little more direction, register for the succulent topiary workshop where you will make a living 13-inch succulent arrangement in the shape of a mushroom. As your arrangement grows in, take cuttings to create future succulent projects.
The succulent topiary workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15 at the Botanical Gardens. The cost is $40 for members and $45 for nonmembers. Register online here.
I love succulents but have a hard time with the tender ones over winter. I am sure this exhibit will be enlightening.
