You can learn a lot at the Back-to-School event at Mischler’s Florist and Greenhouses, 118 South Forest Rd., Williamsville. The event will be held from Friday, Sept. 8 through Saturday, Sept. 16. More than 15 urban farms will be open for visitors during the third annual Urban Farm Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26. The event is free and self guided. In addition to the touring the farms, there will be free, informal talks on specialties such as composting, therapeutic gardening, and the issues related to food securities. Print a map and talk schedule here.
