Starting in May, you’ll see changes at Buffalo-NiagaraGardening.com!

“Gardens Buffalo Niagara has rescued this magazine,” said Connie Oswald Stofko, who built Buffalo-NiagaraGardening.com from scratch and is happy to step down and retire after almost 20 years. “They can do more than I could do by myself.”

The first thing you’ll notice that it will be a monthly publication instead of weekly. We think you’ll enjoy it because we have a new, larger team of editors and writers that can produce expanded content and new features throughout the year.

Moving monthly

The magazine’s publishing schedule is moving from weekly to monthly. It’s still coming out on Tuesdays, and you will get more content and connections to the local gardening community as we expand the website over the next few months.

Look for:

  1. Exclusive stories, interviews and videos
  2. Early access to gardening talks and private garden tours
  3. A wide range of subjects from expert gardening writers such as Sally Cunningham, Connie Oswald Stofko, Jim Charlier, Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardener volunteers, and more
  4. Tips and advice from local pros
  5. New and exciting GBN events, like our Open Gardens Spring Weekend in May!
  6. Lively Facebook and Instagram channels
  7. Fabulous photo galleries of beautiful gardens

More stories, more voices

For more than 30 years, Gardens Buffalo Niagara has had deep roots as a champion of Buffalo gardening. It has extensive relationships with gardeners, gardening advocacy groups, environmental and conservation organizations, and local businesses and sponsors.

We aim to continue this magazine and expand its reach to younger gardeners, retired folks, apartment dwellers, families, and anyone who loves gardening throughout Western New York.
