The Cornell Cooperative Extension of the Genesee County 4-H Youth Development Program will offer Spring Break Workshops from March 21 – March 24 at the Cornell Cooperative Extension building, 420 East Main St., Batavia.
The workshops are open to all youth ages 5-19. Youth do not need to be 4-H members to participate.
Pre-registration is required because all materials will be provided and class sizes are limited. Register by calling the Genesee County 4-H Office at (585) 343-3040, ext. 101 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Four different workshops are being offered, including:
“Kids in the Kitchen!” at 1 p.m. Monday, March 21. During this workshop, participants will learn basic kitchen skills while making easy recipes that will make them a kitchen champion in no time. The cost for this workshop is $5 per youth.
“Livestock Skillathon” at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 22. Participants can have fun exploring the breeds of cattle, goat, sheep and swine, along with learning about feedstuffs, equipment and more. This workshop is free.
“Knit an Infinity Scarf” at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 23. Any youth, boy or girl, left or right handed, can come learn how to knit an infinity scarf. The cost is $5 per youth.
“Ribbon-Woven Headband” at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 24. Learn how to make a ribbon-woven headband. This workshop is designed for youth ages 8 to 12. The cost is $5 per youth.
