The World on Your Plate Food & Sustainable Living Forum will be held Friday and Saturday, October 11 and 12 in Wick Campus Center at Daemen College, 4380 Main St., Amherst. Friday’s activities will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday’s activities will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
World on Your Plate is not just about putting food from around the world on your plate as enjoyable and delicious as that may be. It is about how the food on your plate gets to your plate and how that process affects the entire world.
This year’s featured speaker is nationally acclaimed John DeGraaf, author & film producer of “Affluenza” and “The Economics of Happiness.”
There will be workshops offered on a variety of topics, delicious and healthy foods, vendors, informational tables, gift baskets and more. C
The cost for the entire event- Friday and Saturday or just Saturday, including food is $35/$40 (at the door). Friday is $10/ $15 (at the door). Students who preregister and bring ID will be admitted at no charge. Financial assistance is available.
