Workshops will be held on Thursdays in July at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House, 143 Jewett Pkwy, Buffalo.

July 7,  5 & 6pm: Live Painting in the Gardens with Locust Street Art, $15
Want to grow as both a technical and conceptual artist? This workshop will help you on your journey of discovering your own artistic identity. Learn how to utilize watercolor techniques while painting the colorful Martin House landscape. All supplies provided.

July 14, 5 & 6pm: Mixology Workshop Utilizing Martin House Herbs, $20
Join local mixologist Zachary Bellus to learn about our herbs, their properties, and how to use them in delicious cocktails – just in time for summer entertaining. We will use the plants to make a Tequila Sage Smash and a Bees Knees cocktail. All supplies provided.

July 21, 6pm: Selecting and Caring for Perennials with Urban Roots, $15
Whether you’re a new gardener planning your first perennial bed, or an experienced gardener hoping to improve your existing plantings, this workshop can help. We’ll guide you step by step through designing a perennial garden, choosing plants, preparing the beds, and maintaining your garden.

July 28, 6pm: Raised Bed Gardening with Grassroots Gardening WNY, $15
Join us as we discuss the pros and cons of gardening in raised beds, what to consider when using raised beds, and ways to efficiently grow vegetables in raised beds with some basic gardening techniques. Our friends from Grassroots Gardening will also discuss how they construct the raised beds placed in their community gardens but will provide many different options for starting at home.
