Warren County Conservation District
The Audubon Community Nature Center will present a Woodcock Walk at 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 12. The event will begin in the Warren County Conservation District at the corner of Hatch Run Road and Conewango Avenue in Warren, PA.
At 7:30 p.m., a short presentation will showcase the unusual habits of American Woodcocks and their spring mating flights. Afterward, the group will travel to the Hatch Run Conservation Area to look for woodcocks. Leading the program will be Audubon senior naturalist Jeff Tome, who will use a spotlight to illuminate the birds.
Participants are encouraged to bring comfortable walking shoes, bug spray, and binoculars if you have them. A flashlight may be helpful, as the program ends after dark.
Enrollment is limited. The fee is $12 for adults, and $9 for Nature Center members and children ages 9-15. Paid reservations are required by noon on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Call (716) 569-2345 during business hours or click on the Woodcock Walk here.
