WNY PRISM Programmatic Updates
Lucy Nuessle, Terrestrial Project Manager will cover WNY PRISM’s summer field season including our work through the Crew Assistance Program and our Data Gap Mapping Initiative.
Andrea Locke, WNY PRISM Coordinator will review the success of this year’s Watercraft Inspection Program and this summer’s newsworthy aquatic invasive species observations.
Brittany Hernon, Early Detection Project Manager will discuss her DEC Rapid Response Project and our initiative to map yellow flag iris and flowering rush in WNY.
Lastly, Emily Thiel, Education and Outreach Program Manager will update attendees on this summer’s socially distanced E&O efforts and the regional Education and Outreach Working Group’s newest plans.
Early Detection Species in WNY
This summer brought several new invasive species to WNY. We will spend time to review our Priority Lists, including updating current species and identifying new candidates for inclusion. Similarly, we will review the species currently listed as Tier One and Tier Two Rankings.
