Wegmans Family Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Ave., Buffalo.
Have fun with your food in the Family Garden and at stations throughout the Botanical Gardens. See the schedule below for upcoming themed offerings. While activities are best aligned for children ages 5 – 12, caregivers of the youngest learners are encouraged to assist with creations.
Providing a safe learning environment for children is important. All activities are peanut-allergy friendly.
As part of Wegmans Family Days, they are now offering free mini-tours to the general public during Family Day dates. Join them at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. in the Main Palm Dome by the “tour meets here” sign. Tour topics vary and reservations are not required. All tours are child friendly
Activities are included with paid Botanical Gardens admission/membership.
Admission is $11 for adults, $10 for seniors (ages 62 and older), $9 for students (ages 13 and older with ID), $6 for children ages 3 – 12 and free for Botanical Gardens members and children 2 and under.
October 21 – BOOtanical Celebration
Celebrate all things creepy and crawly at the Botanical Gardens. Learn about some spooky plants while making some creepy crafts to take home. Then enjoy some Halloween treats. Feel free to show off your costume.
November 18 – Harvest Time
Visit the Botanical Gardens to learn all about the autumn harvest season. Create some fun fall crafts while munching on a special harvest treat and learning how various cultures celebrate this time of year.
December 9 – Santa’s Workshop
Visit with Santa and enjoy some fun holiday-themed activities. Santa will be visiting only during the hours of Santa’s Workshop-he has quite a few places to visit after spending the day surrounded by poinsettias and his friends at the Botanical Gardens. Photo prints with Santa will be available for $5 each.
Jan. 20 – Fun with Fruit
Learn about the fabulous fruits that keep us strong and healthy. Explore some of the fruits that grow in the Botanical Gardens, squeeze your own fruit juice and make some fun crafts to take home.
February 17 – Rainforest Exploration
Take a break from the cold weather and spend the day exploring the tropical rainforests of the Botanical Gardens. Taste tropical fruits while learning about plants of the rainforest. Create rainforest crafts and more.
