Watercolor IV: Forest Brilliance

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is offering Watercolor IV – Intermediate Expression from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 24 and 31 and Sept. 7.

The classes will be held online.

The fee is $78 per series for the public and $70.20 per series for Botanical Gardens members.

The forest gives us a natural palette of colors. The class will explore using watercolor pencils to enhance your paintings along with watercolor tube paints. Once water is added to the watercolor pencils your paintings will have an added dimension and an incredible brilliance.    

August 17 – Techniques using watercolor pencils are introduced. Students will begin their paintings with watercolor tube paints.  

August 24 – Glazing is demonstrated to add dimension to your painting. Students will begin adding glazing layers to their painting.

August 31 – Students will start splattering paint, adding texture and interest to their forest painting.

September 7 – Watercolor pencils and final details are added to forest paintings. Any remaining questions answered.
