Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper will hold two RestoreCorps events at Ellicott Creek Park, Amherst.
In preparation for fall plantings along the living shoreline project, as well as the creekside habitat along Creekside Road, the team is coordinating two stewardship events to mulch past tree plantings, protect them from mowers, and prune dead branches.
This work is critical to maintaining the health of our living shoreline and creekside shoreline, which provide valuable habitat for native bird, plant, and insect species, and helps keep Ellicott Creek healthy and stable.
6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 25
Meet near the living shoreline project area in Ellicott Creek Park at around 5:45 p.m. Please consider arriving early in order to find parking and locate the group. See details here.
9 a.m. to noon Saturday, August 28
