It’s the time to go back to school–even for gardeners. You can learn a lot at the Back-to-School event at Mischler’s Florist and Greenhouses, 118 South Forest Rd., Williamsville. The event will be held from Friday, Sept. 6 through Saturday, Sept. 14. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. (Closed Sunday.) The Poetic Landscape of Western New York

Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens 2655 South Park Avenue, Buffalo

The Arcangel Gallery at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is offering a collection of paintings of Western New York landscape. The artist, Fred Fielding conveys to the viewer the way that natural light illuminates the landscape. He uses strong colors and value contrast to amplify the mood of each scene.
