‘The Power of Native Plants’ in Portville

“The Power of Native Plants” will be held by Pfeiffer Nature Center from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Portville Free Library, 2 North Main St., Portville.

The event is free for Pfeiffer Nature Center members, $5 for non-members and free for children 13 and under. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Learn about the pitfalls of lawns, the benefits of native plants, and how to help wildlife in any yard (even in cities), with presenter Jennifer Miller. She will speak about some of the challenges our wildlife faces today and how even small changes in how we garden and maintain our yards can have huge impacts. With easy-to-understand-tips on how anyone can be a steward of their yard, large or small, you can spring into action this season and make a difference.
