The People’s Food Movement, a free event celebrating and informing a healthy food future in Western New York, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11 at D!G in the BNMC Innovation Center, 640 Ellicott St., Buffalo.
The event includes a free meal and activities for the whole family.
You can learn about how to improve all people’s access to healthy and affordable food in Erie County, and you can give your feedback, too. Learn about the status of our area’s food, listen to presentations from the Buffalo and Erie County Food Policy Council and the Youth Advisors Council, and lend a hand in developing a collective picture for our region’s food system.
5 p.m.: Free dinner and information stations (dinner is first-come, first-served)
5:30 p.m.: Meet our community leaders
6 p.m.: Share your vision for a healthy food future
This event is a quarterly meeting of the Western New York Environmental Alliance, hosted by the Alliance’s Growing (Food, Agriculture & Gardens) Working Group. Co-hosts include Buffalo Public Schools Child Nutrition Services, Buffalo Farm to School, Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus,
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County 4-H Youth Advisors Council, Food Bank of WNY, Food Policy Council of Buffalo & Erie County, Grassroots Gardens of Buffalo, Massachusetts Avenue Project (MAP) Growing Green, UB Undergraduate Academies and Western New York Environmental Alliance.
