Hypertufa Workshop

Date(s) - Saturday, Oct 03, 2020
2:00 pm

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is offering an online make-it, take-it Hypertufa Workshop at 9 a.m or 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.

Get messy and creative with one of our most popular workshops – now at home. Fashion your own planting container from peat moss, Portland cement and perlite. Hypertufas are a great way to create a garden container from scratch. The instructor will walk you through the technique to create your own planter. You can then use the skills you learn to make any shape hypertufa you like in future.

Class will be offered via Zoom Meeting, a free online audio-visual platform.

The cost is $35 for the general public and $31.50 for Botanical Gardens members.

Hypertufa ingredients (portioned peat moss, Portland cement and perlite) and a dish pan are included in the price. Curbside pick-up for mixing ingredients and dish pan will occur from 4:30-5:30 pm Wednesday, Oct. 1.

Students will also need to provide their own bucket/bowl, hand trowel, a large plastic bag, gloves and face covering to prevent inhaling dust.
