Spring stroll at Penn Dixie

Date(s) - Sunday, May 22, 2022
10:00 am - 11:30 am

Penn Dixie Paleontological Outdoor & Education Center

A guided walk will be held from 10 am – 11:30 am Sunday, May 22 at Penn Dixie Fossil Park & Nature Reserve, 4050 North St., Blasdell.

Search Penn Dixie’s woods and wetlands for spring flora, fauna, & fungi and discuss the seasonal changes of the park. This program is recommended for people ages 8+.

Meet at the check-in pavilion next to the parking lot for a brief introduction before heading out on the trail.

Note: This event is free, but does not include fossil hunting. If you are a non-member and would like to stay after the program and dig for fossils, you must purchase a general admission ticket.

Please dress in weather-appropriate gear, pack layers and wear boots. Parts of the park can get muddy, especially in the springtime. They advise that you take bottled water because they don’t have running water on site. There are portable toilets available near the parking lot. This event will be held rain, snow or shine, but if there is heavy rain or they detect lightning on site, the program will be cancelled and you will be notified via email.
