The Smallwood Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 in Williamsville United Methodist Church, 5681 Main St., Williamsville.
Nancy Kalieta, former volunteer coordinator at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens and current president of Hamburg House and Gardens Garden Club, will give a PowerPoint presentation on “The Victorian Language of Flowers.” It will include a brief summary of Queen Victoria’s life; an overview of Victorian homes, fashions and mores; the use of tussle musses, and legends and meanings associated with specific flowers.
