The Niagara Frontier Botanical Society is planning a field trip to Yellow Springs, Ohio on May 5-8. The week-end trip will stretch from Glen Helen Nature Preserve to Clifton Gorge State Preserve to John Bryan State Park. They are three adjacent preserves along a gorge in Yellow Spring, Ohio about an hour west of Columbus. This is a very rich area botanically with 12 species of oaks, 5 species of hickorys, 4 species of sumac, plus things like fringe tree, both northern & southern hackberry, leatherwood, burning bush, sassafras, bald cypress, and abundant spring wildflowers.
