Raising Capital on your farm will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 at the Frank Bratt Agricultural Center, 3542 Turner Rd., Jamestown.

It is presented by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chautauqua County’s Agriculture Program as part of their 2017-2018 L.E.A.F. (Learn. Empower. Achieve. Farm.) Workshop Series.

Finding funding for a farm business can often times be the most difficult task for starting a farm business. Join Amanda Ritchey, Farm Loan Manager with the USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) and USDA staff to learn more about the various resources available through USDA and their associated federal agencies including FSA, Rural Development, and Natural Resources Conservation Service. This workshop will cover Ag lenders, what lenders are looking for, how to prepare a balance sheet, basics of compiling a projection and FSA loan basics.

The cost is $5 per family.

Pre-registration is required prior to the workshop to allow for adequate time to prepare printed resources and materials.

To register, email kaw249@cornell.edu, or call 716-664-9502, ext. 202.
