“Plant the Autumn Beauties Now… You May not Notice Them in Spring!” will be presented by Sally Cunningham, gardening consultant, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 at Lockwood’s Greenhouses, 4484 Clark St., Hamburg.
Why is your late summer and autumn garden duller than in the early summer? It’s probably because you shopped early in the season and bought the prettiest flowering plants, never noticing late-season beauties (still all green in June) because they didn’t offer a clue what they would look like later. Look at the perennials and shrubs that are gorgeous now!
Cunningham will show you some plants you don’t know well, with recommendations about selection, placement, planting and super combinations. Her talk will include tips for keeping (or letting go of) annuals and tropical plants. All questions are welcome.
The fee is $10.
