Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve and Environmental Education Center

You can volunteer to help remove an invasive plant, Phragmites australis, that is threatening the wetlands at Reinstein Woods.

A training session for the Phragmites Strike Team will be held from 5:30- 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18 at Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve, 93 Honorine Dr., Depew.

Registration is required for the training. To register or for more information, call (716) 683-5959.

Throughout the spring and summer, the Strike Team monitors and removes Phragmites australis.

No experience is needed, just a love of nature and a desire to help a local habitat.

Once you’ve been trained, you can participate on your own time, or join other Strike Team members at regular “seek and destroy” sessions to remove this invasive plant. It’s a great way to get outside and help Reinstein Woods habitats.
