“Perennials and Shrubs,” a symposium and luncheon, will be held from 9:15 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 7 at Lockwood’s Greenhouses, 4484 Clark Street Hamburg.
Classes are:
9:15-10:30 a.m. Powerful Perennials, Superior Shrubs for WNY (Sally Cunningham, gardening expert)
11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Design with Perennials, Shrubs and Vines (Rochelle Smith)
Known for more than 25 years as one of the region’s top horticulture educators, Rochelle Smith holds landscape design degrees and teaches landscape professionals of the future at Finger Lakes Community College. In this talk she will focus on annual and perennial vines and their many uses in your gardens.
1:15 p.m. All About Hydrangeas (Fred Safford)
Fred Safford, the tree and shrub department manager at Lockwood’s, will review hydrangea types, pruning and how to get the maximum bloom. It includes a tour of the hydrangea department.
The whole program with the luncheon costs $38; individual classes are $10 each.
