The Tours of Open Gardens offers 12 groupings of premier gardens open, for select hours, on Thursdays and Fridays in July. Many of the gardens are not on any other tour, so this is your only chance to visit them.
The gardens are beautiful, there are no crowds and the gardeners are friendly if you want to ask questions.
The Tours of Open Gardens and Garden Events Guide is available, for a $5 donation, at the retail outlets listed here. The guide includes a map showing the gardens and suggested routes to see them all.
Be sure to check the hours each garden is open. If you see the Open Gardens sign out, you’re welcome in. If you’re there for the right hours, but a sign is not posted, an emergency has most likely popped up and the garden is not open.
