A tour of native gardens will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 at Graycliff, 6472 Old Lakeshore Rd., Derby.
Located on the shores of Lake Erie, Graycliff is home to Frank Lloyd Wright-designed architecture along with the Ellen Biddle Shipman-designed gardens and landscape. Shipman, the prominent landscape architect, heavily relied on the inclusion of native plants and trees.
Join the WNY Land Conservancy and Graycliff for a tour of the thoughtfully restored historic site. Zigzag goldenrod, whitespire birch and river birch, pagoda dogwood, foamflower, elderberry–these are just a few of the incredible species of trees and plants attendees will enjoy on the property. As a special bonus, attendees will also tour the interior of the Wright-designed main house (this tour includes the first floor).
