Medicinal Garden Feature: Arthritis Awareness & Osteoporosis Awareness & Prevention Month

The Medicinal Garden feature marks May as Arthritis Awareness & Osteoporosis Awareness & Prevention Month at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens, 2655 South Park Avenue, Buffalo. Activities include educational presentations and displays about prevention, identification and treatment of arthritis and osteoporosis, and botanical displays of plants from which current medications are derived from and which future medications are being researched.

From 10am-12pm, Independent Nursing Care will provide blood pressure screening and The M. Steven Piver MD Center for Women’s Health and Wellness will provide bone density screenings.

The Medicinal Garden feature is sponsored by Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, D’Youville School of Pharmacy, and Independent Nursing Care.

The event is included in admission. Admission is free for Botanical Gardens members and children under 3, and the cost for non-members is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors (55+) & students (13+ with ID), and $5 for children 3-12. Click here for more information.
