Masters watercolor class: Fall Splendor

The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens is offering Watercolor V – Masters from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays on  Aug. 18 and 25 and Sept. 1 and 8. The classes will be held online.

The fee is $78 per series for the public and $70.20 per series for Botanical Gardens members.

Fall Splendor, a series class, will have you adding your acquired skills together to create a beautiful fall walk. Composition, color theory, trees, rocks, leaves, water, reflections will all be utilized to paint your masterpiece. Instructor Deanna Weinholtz will take you on virtual field trips, introducing or reviewing how to paint all of the elements.

August 18 – Composition and basic color theory will be reviewed. Students will begin planning their compositions and palette.

August 25 – Demonstration of elements in painting. Students begin their paintings.

September 1 – Demonstration of elements, textures and reflections.

September 8 – Glazing, textures and final touches are added to paintings. Any remaining questions about individual paintings will be addressed.
