Lockwood's Greenhouses

You can make a mixed fall container in a hands-on workshop at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25 at Lockwood’s Greenhouses, 4484 Clark St., Hamburg.

Using cold-tolerant varieties will give you color from now until frost, a full two months away.

Marge Vogel of Lockwood’s will show you how to plant up a mixed container using cold-tolerant annuals. You will have your choice of ornamental kale, millet, sedum, ornamental peppers, mums, coneflower and more. These plants come in the colors of the season to match pumpkins and corn stalks we’ll be harvesting later.

The price is $35.

The class includes pot, soil, plants and instruction.
