Audubon Community Nature Center will present the workshop Maintaining Your Garden from 1 – 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16 at the home of the presenters, Scott and Pam Stoleson in Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania. Driving directions will be emailed to registrants on the Thursday before the workshop.

Learn the basics of weeding, mulching and organic pest control. At this point the entire garden will be fully planted and hopefully growing well.

You’ll discuss ways to battle pests – without chemicals. Of course, you will also sample whatever is now ripe for picking – possibilities include sugar snap peas, the first tomatoes and cucumbers, gooseberries, currants, and raspberries.

This is the third in a series of five hands-on gardening classes offered by organic gardeners Scott and Pam Stoleson. This hands-on, taste-buds-on workshop will take place at the Stoleson’s home in Sugar Grove, Pennsylvania.

Keep in mind that you could get dirty.

Fee for the workshop is $16 and for Nature Center members, $12. Driving directions will be emailed to registrants on the Thursday before the workshop.

Enrollment is limited. Paid reservations are required by Wednesday, July 12. You can register online

Future workshops will be on Sunday afternoons. The theme on August 20 is Late Summer Harvests and October 1 is Fall Harvests and Putting Your Garden to Bed.
