The Long Branch Garden Tour, Toronto’s biggest free garden tour, will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 22 in Long Branch.
Long Branch is a lakefront community located in the southwest corner of Toronto. It the late 1800s, it was a vacation resort for wealthy Torontonians. A cottage community was soon established, boasting beautiful wooded lots.
There will be more than three dozens gardens. You can see the map of participating gardens here.
The following activities will take place at The Branch Church, 85 Thirty First St., Etobicoke:
- 9:00 – 9:45 a.m. – Garden talk with Sean James, a master gardener, garden designer, writer and speaker.
- 9:45 – 9:50 – Garden Tour kick-off
- Noon–12:45 p.m. – Garden talk with Jeff Mason. With over 30 years experience, Mason has worked in virtually every aspect of the horticultural industry.
Children’s hands-on activities will take place throughout the day at The Branch Church. Master Gardeners will be on site. Kids can learn how to care for different plants and learn about pollinators and wildlife in the garden.
The Long Branch Garden tour is part of Garden Days Canada, a national celebration of gardens and gardening.
