Living with beavers at Community Nature Center

Date(s) - Saturday, Apr 27, 2019
10:00 am - 11:30 am

Audubon Community Nature Center

The Audubon Community Nature Center will hold living with beavers from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Nature Center, 1600 Riverside Rd., Jamestown.

Beavers can be hard to live with. They flood land and roads, dam ditches and road culverts, and can wreak havoc on the land. Learn how to live with beavers through the use of a variety of flow devices that allow the water to move where people need it to go.

This program will be put together by Owen and Sharon Brown, the founders of the non-profit Beavers: Wetlands and Wildlife. Their combined degrees in material engineering and biology give them the perfect insight in how to work with and around beavers that can cause flooding and other problems.

The fee is $25 for adults and $20 for Nature Center members. Reservations must be made online by April 25.
